Thai Metal Packaging Association (TMPA), Thai Corrosion of Metals and Materials Association (TCMA) together with National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC)
set up webinar “Corrosion of Food and Beverage CANs” (Fundamental & Case study) on December 16,2025. (159 participants) to upskill/reskill the people in related supply Chain.
Corrosion is the natural, gradual degradation of materials (especially metals) due to chemical or electrochemical reactions with their environment, turning them back into more stable forms like oxides, leading to material weakening and failure.
Can corrosion is electrochemical process where the metal of the Can (tinplate/TFS or aluminum) reacts with the Food/beverage inside. Types of Corrosion in Cans for example Filiform, Pitting etc.
Thanks to lecturer, Dr. Ekkarat Viyanit, Principal Researcher, Director of Rail and Modern Transports Research Group, MTEC and President of Thai Corrosion of Metals and Materials Association.
